What a marvelous day it has been! Those days where you feel the divine presence in both grand gestures and subtle whispers are truly a blessing. Networking often feels like a marathon where I must be mentally and emotionally prepped. The art of meeting, greeting, and engaging with others is energizing yet leaves me in need of recovery. Yet, the passion that fuels my migraine advocacy never lets me pass up an opportunity. Stepping back into the world of golf after a ten-year hiatus was daunting. The sun overhead was a concern, and I wondered about my skills, yet I relished the chance to learn, meet new people, and enjoy the day. A meeting with the director of OED brought invaluable insights, sealing a day filled with learning and laughter. Building meaningful relationships has shown to be invaluable.

Entrepreneurship is a challenging walk, more so amidst chronic pain. This past week tested my endurance with my body rebelling against workouts and a new spine treatment. I had a profound encounter with a doctor dedicated to natural healing paths and was awestruck by his approach. Even with post-treatment aches, I am hopeful. The care and attention from the healthcare team is truly compassionate and detail-oriented, making a world of difference.

Preparing for my son's visit, along with his girlfriend, sparked a flurry of emotions. My mind recalled prayers for the right partner for him, reminding me of God's ongoing presence. Ten years as an empty nester have taught me much about grace and mercy, sustaining us through life's trials. Witnessing my son's journey at 28 is a testament to answered prayers and faithful guidance, paralleling my own transition over the decade—a decade marked by change, especially from migraine's overwhelming influence. Yet, through every wave of uncertainty, God's faithfulness has been my anchor. It has taught me self-care, setting firm boundaries, increased prayer, and the importance of purposeful rest. This period has instilled wisdom, teaching that love and faith are actions, and listening to God leads to growth.

The whirlwind of this past week included multiple doctor visits, profound discoveries, and celebrations. Allergies have become unexpected guests, and stress a suspected culprit. Reflecting on my son's milestones and my sister's brand launch, I have found peace in journaling my feelings. Despite physical reactions, happiness at my sister’s success and the stability it represents brings joy. May has been a month of revelations and divine guidance, illustrating that resilience means moving forward with purpose. My mission to make migraines matter remains steadfast. The goal is a healthcare approach where patient and physician interaction transcends clinical detachment, transforming into genuine collaboration and understanding.

Today’s sermon was a clarion call to action—a reminder that each of us has a divine mission. I am resolute in my purpose to bridge the understanding between patients and providers within the migraine community. This isn't solely about showing the patient perspective but empathizing with physicians' challenges too. By posing reflective questions, understanding and empathy can flourish:

- How do financial pressures alter patient decisions about care?

- What challenges do doctors face while striving for patient advocacy?

My “Iron Sharpening” method empowers, teaching that limitations become stepping stones. You can thrive with faith and support. Sharing our pain, rather than hiding it, ensures it garners the attention required for change.

As May closes with the recognition of those lost in battle we embrace June and the opportunity to honor Migraine and Headache Awareness Month alongside. celebrating another cherished birthday.

Stay tuned for next month's installment of "Chronicles of a Resilient Woman" as I continue sharing this journey of perseverance setbacks, small victories, and hope.
